Industrea's operations span 4 broad categories comprising diesel equipment, mining services, technology and international.  Our various business units operate in each of these categories as follows:

Diesel Equipment
Industrea's Diesel Equipment manufacturing businesses, P.J. Berriman (PJB), Industrea Mining Equipment (IME) and Kade Engineering based in the Hunter Valley, are focused on the underground mining industry.

Both IME and PJB design, manufacture, repair, overhaul and modify specialist flame proof and explosion proof underground mining vehicles.  IME's heavy underground mining equipment is specifically targeted to long wall relocation while PJB's product range includes materials handling equipment and accessories.

Industrea diesel products are sold across Australia, and are generating a growing pipeline of orders from China, India, South Africa, Europe and the Americas.

IME's state-of-the-art longwall roof support carriers boast world-leading carrying capacity (up to 80 tonnes) and productivity and safety capabilities unmatched by other global producers.  The size and complexity of the longwall roof support carriers manufactured by Industrea have set an undisputed benchmark in underground coal mining, and are delivering decided productivity and efficiency gains in some of the world's largest longwall operations in China.

Kade Engineering, acquired by Industrea in February 2009, provides metal fabrication services to both PJB and IME.  The rationale behind the acquisition was the ability to leverage greater production efficiencies in our existing Hunter Valley diesel equipment manufacturing businesses and this has been successfully achieved.

Mining Services
Huddy's Mining Services, acquired by Industrea in February 2008, is a market leader in the open cut contract mining services, equipment hire and civil contracting services.

The business primarily provides earth moving equipment and equipment operators, open cut mining and haul services, drill and blast services and mine planning. Huddy's also maintains one of the newest specialist fleets of vehicles and machinery in Australia.

The Huddy's business significantly diversifies Industrea's earnings base and provides a major stream of reliable and recurring monthly revenue.

When acquired, Huddy's had maintained an historic focus on the North Queensland market, being the dominant provider of mining services in the Mt Isa region. By successfully exploiting synergies with the wider Industrea group, we have significantly diversified Huddy's reach into new markets outside its strong base in Mt Isa, including the Bowen Basin and Hunter Valley coal sectors.

The business's size and proven operating model enables it to cost effectively tender for projects ideally suited to "Tier 2" contractors. The forward outlook for Huddy's remains extremely strong, with additional new business opportunities expected to be driven by growing predictions of a recovery in global commodity markets and the continued trend towards outsourcing.

Technology Division
Industrea's wholly owned technology businesses include Advanced Mining Technologies (AMT) and GPS Online Solutions.

The businesses specialise in the design, manufacture and marketing of highly specialised safety enhancement equipment for the underground coal and open cut mining sectors. Products include instrumentation for underground coal directional drilling and coal seam degasification, as well as collision avoidance equipment and systems for open cut mining operations.

Industrea's AMT developed CAS-CAM/RF system is now widely lauded as 'best of breed' internationally as evidenced by sales to BHP Billiton and other leading global mining groups including Anglo American, Vale and Shenhua. The system is currently in use at mine sites across Australia, South Africa, Chile, Indonesia and China.

International
Industrea's International Division comprises Industrea Wadam (Beijing) Mining Equipment Technical Services Co Ltd (Industrea Wadam) based in China and Australian based Wadam Industries.

The business is primarily involved in the distribution, sales, services, spares and support of Industrea manufactured and selected third party 'best of breed' underground mining equipment into China.

Our AMT business also has significant international operations through its product sales and support centre in Santiago servicing the Latin America and Southern USA markets. AMT also distributes its directional drilling de-gasification solution via Wadam in China and has distributor arrangements in South Africa for its CAS-CAM/RF collision avoidance system.
