The Huddy's business, founded in Mount Isa in 1986 has grown to become a leading tier 2 mining services provider. Through its 20+ years history in the industry, Huddy's has worked in areas across much of the east coast of Australia in metalliferrous mines and coal, both thermal and coking coal.
The size and depth of the Huddy's business allows it to provide integrated mining services for a full scale mining operation. However, through a relatively stable permanent workforce the Huddy's business is readily adaptable to provide services tailored to any scale of operation.

Commitment to Safety
Safety is of high priority and importance within the Huddy's business. Huddy's commits to the continuous improvement and maintenance of its safety policy and procedures with the application of trained Safety representatives. This is evidenced by Huddy's recent update of its safety systems to include coal safety.
Huddy's has the capacity to conform to site specific requirements with its current business unit utilising the P.A.S.S system (Positive Attitude Safety System) which is documented on a shift by shift basis. Auditing of work environment and tooling (registers etc) is also performed on regular intervals and can be programmed to conform to site requirements.
Huddy's has also committed to the installation of the Industrea CAS-CAM/RF collision avoidance system across all of the Huddy's heavy mining equipment fleet. CAS-CAM/RF is a leading radio frequency based collision avoidance system for use on heavy machinery in mine sites as is evidenced by its preferred status with BHP Billiton and Anglo on a global basis.
Technical Expertise and advisory resources
The Huddy's maintenance team utilise Caterpillar SIS and ET as service tools along with a full time Product support representative from Hastings Deering supporting the Caterpillar fleet. Huddy's has Cummins Tooling QC51 00 along with Cummins Insight program as a support tool for data recovery for its Excavator fleet. These tools allow Huddy's to manage overall performance and condition of the equipment in relation to contract environment. Huddy's operational staff includes Accredited Safety and Trainer assessors who provide operator training in relation to contract environment and customer requirements and provide experience in all aspects of open cut operations. Project management, mining engineering and surveying round out the Huddy's mining services capabilities from a technical perspective. To allow complete project autonomy, Huddy's has qualified shotfirers and blasthole drillers.
