IME was established in the Hunter Valley in 1978 and specialises in the design, manufacture and servicing of heavy underground mining equipment particularly for use in longwall relocation.

Longwall Roof Support Carrier
The Longwall Roof Support Carrier is a purpose built machine designed specifically to lift, carry, position and drop off longwall roof supports up to 80 tonnes in weight, providing fast and reliable transportation on rubber tyres, in an underground environment.

Longwall Shearer Carrier
The Longwall Shearer Carrier is a purpose built machine designed to load, carry and unload longwall coal shearers and heavy equipment up to 130 tonnes in weight, providing reliable transportation, on crawler tracks in an underground environment.

Longwall (Electric or Diesel powered) Mine Dozer
The Longwall Mine Dozer is available in a diesel powered format or alternatively in an electric powered format. The Longwall Mine Dozer when utilizing an attachable / detachable forklift set becomes a purpose built machine designed to load, carry and place longwall roof supports up to 70 tonnes in weight, in line, at a longwall installation. The Longwall Mine Dozer when utilizing an attachable / detachable jib arrangement becomes a purpose built machine designed to retrieve and pull away longwall roof supports when the longwall is being de-commissioned for relocation.

Underground Mine Grader
The Underground Mine Grader is a purpose built machine designed specifically for roadway maintenance in underground coal mines.

Multi Purpose Vehicle
The Multi Purpose Vehicle is a machine designed specifically for the transportation of men and materials in underground coal mines. It provides for a system that utilizes attachments (pods) for all transportation needs in a one man operation without the need for manual handling. A pos system has features to improve the efficiency of man transport and materials management in the mining environment and unlike a trailer, a pod does not require wheels or brakes. A pod system will assist in maintaining a clean work place and reduce wastage associated with double handling.
