Industrea drives growth through four primary business divisions;
Mining Equipment, Mining Technology, Mining Services and our newest and strategically important, Gas Management Division. Our three export oriented divisions, Mining Equipment, Mining Technology and Gas Management work closely with our China-based subsidiary Industrea Wadam, to expand our business in this strategically important market.

Our growing export markets are also serviced via a subsidiary in South America (incorporated in Chile) and distribution arrangements in South Africa, Russia, Indonesia and the United States.

2011 Overview
  • Continued strong growth of sales into multiple markets including China, Russia and Australia.
  • Contracts include a number of domestic and international sites for BHP Billiton and Rio Tinto in Western Australia.
  • Chinese demand lower than expected, but as forecast rebounded to stronger levels following Chinese New Year.
  • Robust domestic demand maintains strong forward order book by year end.

  • Production of in-house in-seam coal drilling rigs started.

  • $7.0m in R&D results in the launch and strong market take up of five new products.

  • Establishment of new Gas Management division.
  • Acquisition of AJ Lucas business establishes Industrea as second largest provider of underground gaseous drilling services in Australia.
  • Successful expansion of existing contracts in Mt Isa, Bowen Basin and Hunter Valley increases fleet utilisation rates and margins.
  • July 2011 Lady Annie contract extension adds $14.4m p.a. revenue.
2012 Forecast
  • Continued safety push by Chinese coal miners to increase demand, with larger unit orders and sales of spares.
  • Strong growth expected from the Russian market following an order for 10 DGS systems.
  • Additional growth expected from Australia, South Africa, South America and emerging North America markets.
  • Strong demand to continue for new larger and more powerful units with increasing recurring revenue from spares, servicing and maintenance.
  • Tier 3 ultra low diesel particulate emission engine expected to drive domestic growth.
  • Chinese sales to increase on back of 20% p.a. growth in demand for mining products.
  • China revenue to be boosted from sales of locally manufactured diesel vehicles.
